This is one of those times of year when everyone leaves NYC. Being a rebel, I try and stay here as much as I can for many reasons. One, everyone leaves. Two, I like to go places during the off season when I do travel. Places like Cutchogue before Memorial Day are serene. Long Island now is, dare I say, a shit show. I avoid the sun during the day and pine for the late city nights illuminated by those beautiful summer sunsets. I glide through the thick air and cherish rare breezes that feel divine against my ass in the shortest leather shorts.
The ability to walk everywhere without snow is a dream and the heat smells don't bother me. I'm a real New Yorker, and if you can't stomach the streets, then get off them as you're blocking the sidewalk. Speaking of finding reprieve inside, I would be ecstatic to see you when you can break free from your responsibilities and in between your summer jaunts.
